Products' Information

What kind of bicycles do these racks work with?
Both rack designs, the rigid and the retractable, work with most road, mountain, hybrid, and cruiser bicycles with 24-inch wheels to 29-inch wheels. While our racks are designed for wheel sizes 24" and up, BMX bicycles can still work. Select bicycles with fenders can also work with our rack designs, provided that the fenders are not the extended type and wrap too far around the wheels.
What if my bicycle has fenders?
Rear fenders must be short enough so that when the bicycle is rolled back onto its rear wheel the fender doesn't touch the floor. A fender on the front wheel can be an issue due to the rack's cradle-like structure which is designed to hold and suspend your bicycle from the front wheel. Therefore, a front fender must be the short type, being short enough to clear the horizontal spacer upon which the front tire rests.
How much weight can the bike racks hold?
Our bicycle storage racks are engineered to be quite strong, and will hold most standard bicycles. While every bike design is different, we recommend limiting the bike weight to 50 pounds. Please understand that the load capacity is limited more by how the rack is anchored to the wall (or mounting surface). A solid anchoring will yield a solid and strong bicycle storage rack.
How stable would my bicycle be? Will it swing from side to side?
Our wooden bike racks are uniquely engineered to provide a very stable storage condition. The patented geometry makes for a deep pocket for the front wheel to rest; and the stabilizing brackets at the top of the rack prevent the front wheel from tilting to the side. The bicycle's center-of-mass will cause the rear wheel to rotate under the rack and rest upon the wall. In order to avoid any risk from the bicycle to be accidentally pulled out, we have added a special Retention Safety Strap that secures the front wheel to the rack.
Do I need to buy any special mounting hardware?
Our wooden bicycle storage racks come with two "FastenMaster HeadLOK Structural Wood Screws" (4-1/2" length); and a "FastenMaster Spider Drive Bit" which are good for standard wood stud construction (covered with drywall, plaster, or paneling). If you are mounting the bike rack to any other mounting surface such as a pole, you may need some additional mounting hardware.
Do you offer custom orders?
We currently do not offer any custom work for our bicycle storage racks at this time. But, we do offer our racks in an unfinished condition, so that you may either stain it or paint it to your own preference.
What are Ergo Bike Racks made of?
Our bicycle racks are crafted from either solid hardwood, hardwood veneer ply, Baltic Birch ply, or a combination thereof. Wherever and whenever possible, we utilize "FSC" (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified wood products from USA sources or from verifiable managed forest sources. Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a great standard of certification that controls clear-cutting and promotes good working conditions. We cautiously select the wood species through thoroughly research, making sure that we avoid wood species that are either threatened, in limited quantities, or illegally harvested. We care about the wood we choose because we care about a sustainable ecology. The screws are stainless steel, and the metal hardware items are either nickel-plated steel or aluminum. The safety retention strap is 100% cotton webbing.
Where are Ergo Bike Racks' products made?
All of our products are designed, manufactured, and assembled right here in the United States. Because we care about our sources, we acquire our materials from companies owned and operated on U.S. soil; and we inquire our vendors about their process. Some of our vendors do operate facilities overseas, but whenever possible we try to get the domestically manufactured supplies.

Payment

What is your purchasing process?
We follow a straight forward standard procedure for online stores with the help of PayPal - the secure outside payment system we have chosen for handling the transactions. Once you have chosen the item to purchase, you are taken to the Shopping Cart page. Right there you can see the PayPal Check out button which will take you to a "secure session" (https) so you can complete your purchase with secure peace of mind. PayPal will displays a billing information / log-in page, which lets buyers see the order summary and choose a way to pay. There's a slight difference between the page's display depending on the device being used (desktop or mobile devices). On a mobile device you may not be able to see / use the shipping calculator. Shipping and taxes will be applied and shown once you log in. Take into account that you do not need a PayPal account to make the purchase. You can choose to check out as guest by clicking on "Don't have a PayPal account" link and begin entering your information. Can I use my mobile devices to purchase your bike racks?
Sure you can! Our website is mobile-friendly. You follow the same standard procedure for handling transactions online. You choose an item to purchase and you are taken to the Shopping Cart page where you can click on the PayPal Check out button to complete your payment. Once you are on a PayPal's "secure session" (https) you will see your basic billing information (no shipping or taxes included) and the log-in options. You can use your PayPal account if you happen to have one or you log in as a guest by clicking on "Don't have a PayPal account" link. Shipping and taxes will be applied according to the information you provide when you log in.
Do you charged sales tax?
We are required by law to charge and collect sales tax from all of our Georgia (U.S.A.) retail customers. If you live in another state or in a country outside of the U.S. state of Georgia, you may be required to submit a sales-and-use tax to your local government.
What kind of credit cards do you accept?
Because we process all of our online orders through PayPal, we can accept all major credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A PayPal account is not required; you can checkout as a guest. And if you do have a PayPal account, you can also pay with the funds in your PayPal account. It's that simple!
Can I pay by check or money order?
You are welcome to pay with a check or money order. If you choose to mail in your payment, please understand that your shipment may be briefly delayed until the funds are verified. For in person purchases, payment by check is taken on a case-by-case basis.
Do I need a PayPal account to make a purchase?
While we do process all of our online orders and invoicing through PayPal, you DO NOT need to have a PayPal account. Your payment process will be treated as GUEST through PayPal, and you will receive the same high level of security and peace-of-mind that comes with all PayPal purchases.
How do I a know purchase through your website is safe?
Ergo Bike Racks (officially - Mountain Trail Designs, LLC) never sees your credit card or bank account information. All purchases made through our website are processed through PayPal. PayPal is one of the largest and most respected online payment processors. PayPal handles all of your financial information using encrypted technology of the highest caliber. Shipping

How much is shipping?
For U.S. domestic retail orders going to the lower 48 states, each bicycle storage rack ships for $25. For U.S. domestic retail orders going to Alaska or Hawaii, each bicycle storage rack ships for $35. Large volume orders, like for our wholesale customers, are reviewed and quoted on a case-by-case scenario. International orders vary according to the country of destination; therefore, please inquire with us to receive a shipping quotation.
How are your products shipped?
We ship our products using the most cost-effective, trackable service currently available from either the United States Postal Service (USPS) or the United Parcel Service (UPS). Our products are packaged in recyclable cardboard boxes, which are made here in USA. Plus, all of the padding materials we use are also recyclable or reusable!
Can I track my order?
Absolutely! At the time that we package your order and print the postage, an e-mail message will be sent to you with the TRACKING NUMBER details. If you reside outside of the United States, and depending on your country, tracking may or may not available once the package has been handed off it your local delivery service.
How long will it take to receive my order?
We love every order we get, so we take every order seriously. Most orders will leave our facility within 48 hours (Monday - Friday), usually less. Delivery times vary by destination. Most U.S. domestic orders will arrive at your door in 3 - 10 business days (Monday - Saturday, excluding holidays). International orders vary by destination and the time that may be required to clear customs in your country. Remember, you can track your order!
I live outside the United States, can I place an order?
International orders are truly welcome, including those from our U.S. service men and women serving overseas. Currently at this time, if you reside outside the United States, please contact directly for an invoice quotation. We will send you a PayPal Invoice that will itemize your order showing purchase price your requested product(s), your personalized shipping cost, and taxes (if applicable). To pay for your order, you only need to respond to the invoice from PayPal. If you place an order with us, and we identify an issue with your international order, we will contact you directly. If we cannot solve the issue, we will issue a prompt refund.

Warranty

Do you offer a warranty?
We love our products. We design them and we manufacture them; therefore, we stand behind them. We quality check each item as we prepare it and as we package it. If you find that we may have missed something, or there is a defect in the materials or in the workmanship, please let us know. Please note that due to the application of the product(s), we do not have control over certain things, such as damage to the product caused by abuse, misuse, or improper installation. Should upon receiving the product in its new condition you determine that it does not meet your needs, please contact us immediately for a refund.

Returns and Exchanges

What is your refund policy?
If you find that the product of your purchase does not fit your application, or there is a defect in the product, we will work with you to receive a refund. For a detailed review of our Return and Refunds policy, please see our Terms of Service page.
What is your exchange procedure?
If you need to exchange an item, please contact us promptly. If the item you received is incorrect by our mistake, or there is a quality issue, we will exchange the item free of charge. If you need to exchange an item out of desire, and Ergo Bike Racks (officially - Mountain Trail Designs, LLC) is not at fault, we will still happily exchange your item, minus any shipping charges.
